The USGS maintains a video collection that contains a broad array of earth science work conducted by USGS scientists. If you are interested in obtaining footage please contact Don Becker, becker@usgs.gov and provide the following information:
- Name & Address (please include phone & e-mail, etc.)
- Shipping Account Number (FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc.)
- Detailed Request (Name of footage)
- Deadline
- Requested Video Format (NTSC 4:3 and 16:9 where available)
(VHS, DVD-R, DV-Mini, DVCPro, Betacam SP, DVCPro50)- Your Project Title
There is no charge for the duplication of material. We request that you cover the shipping charge for the tape being sent to you by providing a shipping account number.

Most USGS video footage is in the public domain and CANNOT be copyrighted. Although at present, no fee is charged for using the video footage, credit MUST be given to the U.S. Geological Survey unless otherwise instructed to give credit to another source. Granting the right to use video footage from the USGS does not explicitly imply endorsement of any person, product, organization or activity.
