Description: Dr. Alex Andronikov, a geologist from the University of Michigan Department of Geological Science, and Kelley Brumley, a geologist from Stanford University, sort through rocks that were dredged from the Arctic Ocean floor Sept. 9, 2009, aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Healy.The dredging is part of the U.S. Extended Continental Shelf Task Force's effort to locate the outer reaches of the North American continental shelf.
