Souris River near Westhope, North Dakota, July 24, 2009.  This picture is provided to compare to other pictures at this gaging location during flooding.  Streamflow at this time was approximately 200 cubic feet per second.

On April 20, 2011, this site reach streamflow of 15,000 cubic feet per second and the area looked like a lake rather than a river.  The streamgaging station could be accessed only by boat and water had entered the gage house.
