Details

Title: Aluminum Pannier

Description: This aluminum pannier was made for the storage of meat, vegetables and other food products. The pannier could be buried in the ground or placed in water in order to keep the contents cool. It was designed by Dr. J. D. Love and made for him in 1945. For transportation, this pannier, along with two rectangular panniers, would be strapped to an animal using pack saddles. Object ID: USGS-000073
