Title: World Trade Center Thermal Hot Spots

Description:

Thermal hotspots around the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The images show hot spots and fires still burning in the debris as of September 16, 2001, which were reduced or eliminated by September 23, 2001. These images were produced by the USGS from data gathered during flyovers of the site using an Airborne Visible and Infra-Red Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS).
