Description: USGS microbiologist (Gael Kurath, right) and new post-doctoral researcher (Rachel Life, left), on Rachel's first field sampling trip. We were touring tribal fish culture facilities and collecting lake water samples to test for a new fish virus that is emerging and causing epidemics in steelhead trout on the Olympic Peninsula.
