		  <description><![CDATA[Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced the U.S. Geological Survey will fund $29.4 million in earthquake network upgrades nationwide through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  Salazar made the announcement at a press conference in San Francisco behind the Ferry Building overlooking the Bay Bridge, which was heavily damaged by the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989.
